Tuition and Fees 2009-2010

You'll find that an excellent Branch School education is affordable for your child. Our tuition is very reasonable compared to other fine private schools in West Houston. Tuition Guarantee Fund is a one-time payment due 7/15/09 and required for 2-payment and 10-payment plans, optional for 1-payment plan.

 

FEES FOR NEW STUDENTS

• Application fee $100 (non-refundable, applied to enrollment fee if enrolled)
• Testing fee $80 (non-refundable, required for new students entering second grade or above)

ENROLLMENT FEE

• Preschool $400 (non-refundable) Elementary $500 (non-refundable)
• Receipt of the tuition worksheet and enrollment fee will secure a place for your child in our program until April 15th (contract deadline).
• The enrollment fee includes the application/registration fee, textbooks, and classroom supplies.
• For new students, the application fee will be applied toward the enrollment fee.
• Additional fees are charged for a school T-shirt, field trips, and special projects.

School pictures, book orders, after-school programs, and the yearbook are optional expenses.

 

FULL-DAY OPTION

• Afternoon naps followed by playtime and structured activities are available for a fee of $8 per hour for children enrolled in the half-day Greenhouse or Pre-K programs. See below under Extended Care for full-year afternoon care option.
• Please make prior arrangements when your child is staying in the afternoon.

EXTENDED CARE

• Morning care (8:00 – 8:30) is free.
• A full year of afternoon care (nap & play) (12:30-3:15) costs $450 per day. This is included in full-day tuition for Greenhouse and Pre-K, but half-day students can pay for specific days of nap & play to get savings over the $8 per hour drop-in rate.
• After-school care (3:30-6:00) is $8 per hour (charged in 15-minute increments).
• Extended care before 8:00 and after 6:00 may be available on an as-needed basis with prior arrangements. The fee is $32 per hour (charged in 15-minute increments).

FEES FOR LATE PAYMENT OF TUITION (Tuition is due the first school day of each month)

• $25 is charged after the third school day of the month.
• $50 is charged after the fifth school day of the month.

 

Annual Tuition
Annual tuition is payable in three options: a single payment, due by July 15th ; two payments, due July 15th and January 6th; ten equal payments, starting on July 15th , with the remaining nine payments due on the first school day of each month, September through May. Please note: the student’s tuition obligation is for the entire year (or such portion as may remain after date of entrance), regardless of whether the student completes the school year at The Branch School. This includes cases of prolonged absence, withdrawal, or dismissal.

Tuition Guarantee Fund
Because the student’s tuition obligation is for the entire year (or such portion as may remain after date of entrance), families who do not pay the entire tuition by July 15th are required to participate in the school’s Tuition Guarantee Fund. This Fund will provide half the remaining amount of annual tuition due under the enrollment contract if a student should leave the school before completion of the academic year. In other words, families who elect to pay their tuition in two payments or in monthly installments are required to participate in this Fund. For families who pay the full annual tuition by July 15th, participation in the Fund is optional. No refund of tuition can be made except as provided under this Fund. The Tuition Guarantee Fund requires a one-time payment with the first tuition payment by July 15th (see tuition schedule on reverse side).

 

Financial Aid Program
The Branch School offers a need-based Financial Aid Program. The purpose of this program is to enable qualified students to attend the school who could not otherwise afford to do so. To request an application for financial aid, please contact the Head of School. Families awarded financial aid must reapply each year in order to renew the award. All information will be kept in strict confidence.
